The following appointments, approvals, and notices have been endorsed by the association’s Executive Board during the Board’s December 19, 2017 meeting:
1) The resignation of Richard Luongo as Assignment Officer was accepted by the Executive Board. Richard has served as the association’s Assignment Officer for over 22 consecutive years. He has been consistent in his assignment duties and has progressed with technology changes in the way matches are assigned, he will be missed. Richard will stay on board to help transition to the new assignor. The association will present Richard with a length of service award at the spring general membership meeting 5 March @ 7:00 PM, Washington Twp. HS.
2) Bill Bradley was approved by the Executive Board to fill the Assignment Officer’s remaining term of office. Bill conveys a long list of accreditations that are necessary for a successfully transition to the position. Some of his accomplishments include; 45 years as a classroom, gym teacher, VP and Principal in the Philadelphia School System; 40 Years scheduling elementary and Middle School Boy’s and Girl’s VB, Basketball, and Baseball games and officials for the District; 35 Years scheduling Boys’ Basketball and Baseball games and officials for Washington Twp. Parks and Rec Programs and 25 years officiating HS Soccer.
3) Jack Tsikitas has been appointed “Rules Interpreter” and Professional Development (Education) Chairperson for the association. Jack will lead the Interpretation Chairperson Responsibilities and also the association’s Professional Development sessions at meetings and stand alone sessions. He is a current member of the Association Executive Board and has over 25 years of High School and Recreation volleyball referee experience. Jack has provided expert advice on high school rules interpretation during his professional volleyball career.
